The longer-term path as mentioned by Cohesity will result in the NetBackup platform being more tightly integrated into the Cohesity ecosystem. It may be safe to have optimism about this integration due to Veritas' previous effort in containerizing their NetBackup software. Veritas' Cloud Scale technology further supports the potential of Cohesity being able to absorb NetBackup into their architecture.

The immediate impact will likely be seen later this year once the deal is finalized. We anticipate a rationalization of subscription license packages being offered to customers.

Providing a Generative AI platform is part of Cohesity's differentiating value. Mutually impactful, this will enable customers the ability to better protect the Kubernetes workload that AI solutions are being built on.

At WWT, we often see our large enterprise clients unsuccessfully consolidate their data protection environments into a single vendor or platform. The realization of success or failure is often an arduous journey for our customers to experience.

With the acquisition of Veritas, customers are going to be able to realize the best of both breeds: Cohesity's simplified management with Veritas' depth and breadth of workload protection.

The combination of these two companies may allow customers to have success with consolidation under one roof.

Veritas is an anchor technology for many large enterprise environments. This will undoubtedly allow Cohesity an opportunity to transform those environments.

From a global perspective, we also see this acquisition as a benefit to Cohesity in the APAC markets where Veritas has a healthy install base. In the context of the Broadcom acquisition of VMware, Veritas' workload coverage will insulate Cohesity from this risk.
