About Michael
Mike has been in the high-tech industry for 40+ years now. From the early 80s to the '90s, he worked for multiple defense contractors as an electrical engineer on fire control radar systems, the Space Shuttle, various satellites, and most notably, the RHIC particle accelerator at Brookhaven National Labs. During this time, he became engaged with computers and networking, working with Novell, Windows NT, and Cisco networking. He then switched careers, became a full-time IT professional, became an MCSE, and worked through the CCNA/NP and CCDA/DP tracks, finally getting his CCIE in 2008. He is a 16-year CCIE and VCP\VCIX in NSX with 35+ years of experience designing and implementing networking, computing, storage, and virtualization platforms. Before WWT, Mike worked for North Fork Bank and another VAR. He has been at WWT for 13 years, starting as a CSA for the Southeast, then moving to the Datacenter Networking GET team helping customers. Mike moved to the ASD team as a Principal Architect, focusing on creating platform content and labs geared towards data center technologies and high-performance AI infrastructure.
Mike's responsibilities include working with OEMs on new products and creating lab environments and training guides to help train customers and field engineers. He also guides customers through the discovery, architecture, and design phases of next-generation SDN data center technologies and high-performance AI infrastructure.
